What is the difference between "complain," "complaint" and "complained"?


 


"Complain" is a verb. It means you are unhappy with something and you express it.


For example: "I want to complain about the quality of the food."


The past form of "complain" is "complained."


For example, "I complained about the quality of the food."


"Complaint" is a noun. It's what you say or write when you are unhappy with something.


For example: "I wrote a complaint about the quality of food."
